Upright, vase-shaped clumps of tall green fronds with feathery leaflets. Sterile fronds reach 3 to 5 feet. Deciduous, turning brown in winter. Suitable for shade gardens or moist woodland areas.

  • Sowing: Surface sow spores on moist peat; needs high humidity.

  • Location: Partial to full shade.

  • Soil: Rich, moist, well-drained.

  • Water: Keep consistently moist.

  • Care: Remove old fronds in early spring. Divide in spring.
