         Narrow gray-green foliage on upright, branching stems. Purple-blue flower spikes appear above the leaves during summer. Each spike holds small buds that open gradually. The dried flower heads retain their shape and color for an extended period. Suitable for garden borders or dried arrangements.

  • Sun: Full sun.

  • Soil: Well-drained, even sandy or gravelly soil. Dislikes wet feet.

  • Planting: Space 30-45cm apart. Plant in spring or autumn.

  • Water: Drought-tolerant once established. Water sparingly.

  • Pruning: Trim lightly after flowering to maintain shape. Never cut into old wood.

  • Harvest: Cut flower stems just as buds begin to open for drying or oil.
