             Large winter squash with blue-gray, bumpy skin and a teardrop or oval shape. Inner flesh is orange-yellow and firm. Fruits reach a substantial size at maturity. Suitable for home vegetable gardens.

  • Sowing: Sow 1 inch deep, 3-4 feet apart in hills or rows.

  • Location: Full sun.

  • Soil: Rich, well-drained with compost.

  • Water: Keep moist during germination; water deeply once established.

  • Harvest: Cut from vine after skin hardens before frost. Cure in sun before storing.
