Dark brown to black seeds. Plants produce arching stems with dangling, heart-shaped pink flowers and a white inner petal. Deeply lobed, soft green leaves. Blooms in mid-spring. Suitable for shade borders or woodland gardens.

  • Sowing: Sow 1/4 inch deep; cold stratify 6 weeks.

  • Location: Partial to full shade.

  • Soil: Rich, moist, well-drained.

  • Water: Keep consistently moist.

  • Care: Mulch to keep roots cool. Cut back after yellowing.
