          Harvested from dried iris capsules, these seeds are dark and irregular in shape. Flowering plants produce deep wine-red blooms with lighter streaks near the center. Each flower has three upright standards and three downward falls. Sword-shaped, blue-green foliage. Suitable for garden borders or beds.

  • Sowing: Sow in well-draining soil, lightly cover. Cold stratification improves germination.

  • Location: Full sun (6+ hours daily) for deepest red coloration.

  • Soil: Rich, well-drained soil. Add compost for fertility. Avoid waterlogging.

  • Water: Keep moist during germination; drought-tolerant once established.

  • Care: Transplant when ready. Divide every 3-4 years for best blooms.
