Small yellow flower heads with five to eight petals. Dark brown to black seeds have two to three barbed awns. Upright branching stems with opposite, toothed leaves. Suitable for wildflower meadows.

  • Sowing: Surface sow; needs light.

  • Location: Full sun to partial shade.

  • Soil: Average, well-drained.

  • Water: Keep moist for germination; drought-tolerant once established.

  • Care: Self-seeds aggressively. May be invasive.
