Sowing: Sow in fall for spring germination, or cold stratify seeds in moist sand at 40°F (4°C) for 60 days before spring planting.

Location: Full sun for best flowering; tolerates light shade.

Soil: Adaptable to wide range—sand, loam, clay.

Water: Keep moist during establishment; drought-tolerant once mature.

Care: Provide sturdy support—vines can reach 30-40 feet. Prune aggressively in early spring to control spread. Self-seeds readily.

Note: This plant is extremely vigorous, spreading by underground runners and self-seeding freely. In some regions it is considered invasive, so plant with intention and prune regularly to control spread.
